Our Journey: From 2003 to Today
We started strong, took an unexpected break, and now we're back to make our mark again:
Crafty Syntax (2003) → 11-Year Hiatus → LUPOPEDIA Reboot (2025-2027)
Across these phases, the core architecture:
- served 1.2M+ installations
- ran at scale in real production environments
- survived 8 years of zero revenue without collapse
- proved its ability to operate unattended, reliably, and globally
That endurance is not an accident.

A Transparent Revenue History (No Hype)

2015–mid-2016 (Sales Syntax):

June 2016 onward:
A payment gateway failure froze monetization. Revenue flattened to $0, while the software continued running in production across thousands of systems.
This wasn't a market failure.

LUPOPEDIA isn't just a single installation. It's a federated network where multiple installations can cooperate without losing sovereignty.
The Core Principle: Sovereignty First
Each LUPOPEDIA installation is sovereign.
- No central database or authority
- Each node owns its own data, agents, and channels
- Federation is opt-in cooperation, not mandatory hierarchy
- Nodes can join or leave without breaking the network

Current State (December 2025)
Honest Assessment: The network is not finished—and we're transparent about that.

What's being built: Cryptographic node identity (Ed25519), signed message envelopes, gossip-based discovery, CRDT-based sync, reputation with decay, and removal of admin-only control points.
This is managed federation, moving toward sovereign federation. The guardrails exist to keep the system stable while the foundation is being rebuilt.
